This policy explains how Charles Intelligence, operated by Steorra Pty Ltd, handles your personal information. It applies to everyone who signs up for early access or uses the Charles platform. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Right now, the only personal information we collect is your email address when you register for early access. Once the full platform launches, we will also collect:
Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform, primarily in the Australia (Sydney) region. We use Firebase for authentication and Cloud SQL for database storage. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We limit internal access to what is necessary to operate the service.
If we experience an eligible data breach, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the third-party providers necessary to run the service:
Each provider is bound by data protection obligations consistent with Australian privacy law. We may also disclose your information if required to do so by law or a regulatory authority.
Some providers operate outside Australia. Where we transfer data overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a way consistent with the APPs.
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account and data, we will do so within 30 days, unless we are required by law to retain certain records.
Under the Privacy Act, you can request access to the information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate, opt out of marketing emails, or request deletion of your data. To do any of these, email us at hello@charlesintelligence.com.au and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. We will notify you of material changes by email or via the platform. The effective date above will always reflect the current version.
